Part-Time Bookkeeper

Key Responsibilities

1. Monthly accounting:

· Enter payroll, employee reimbursements, and other special transactions outside purview of Executive Director

2. Quarterly accounting:

· Reconcile investment accounts, monitor investments and enter investment performance on a quarterly basis into the accounting
· Ensure that Donor Advised Funds are up to date with all income, expense data (including earnings and fees) for Executive Director to generate statements
· Review financial statements prepared by the Executive Director to ensure accuracy and provide needed advice

3. Annual closing:

· Enter all data provided by Executive Director for annual closing, including accrued expenses, accounts and grants payable, investment income receivable, gifts receivable, etc.
· Assist the Executive Director with questions and requests related to preparation of Form 990 and any regulatory/tax filings, as well as audit preparation in applicable years.
· Guide Executive Director in gathering the data for the statement of cash flows and ensure an accurate statement is produced annually.

4. On-going systems:
· Update and make adjustments to the accounting database as needed to account for new investment pools, new coding needed for accounts, and to correct/make adjustments to complex transactions.
· Respond to inquiries from the Executive Director related to accounting, financial management, investments as needed,

Qualifications

1. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
2. At least three years of work experience in community foundation accounting
3. Knowledge of FIMS accounting software, of Microedge corporation, required.
