Los Angeles boasts the largest community of Iranians outside of Iran and the group assumes the responsibility to provide a proud, informed voice to link student concerns and experiences with those in the broader community, California, Iran and beyond. |

ISG promotes a unique analytical approach to long-term issues that are important to Iranians worldwide, from an independent Iranian perspective, and within a democratic spirit. ISG aims at creating a dynamic network of academics, community leaders and interested individuals working on an analytical understanding of contemporary Iranian issues, regardless of their social, political or religious beliefs. As an academic organization, ISG values learning and personal development. It provides an opportunity for its members to pursue challenging questions of interest to the individual, which also further the understanding of fundamental issues of contemporary Iran and contribute to the growth of the Iranian civil society. To accomplish these goals, ISG is committed to presenting the public with diverse perspectives on issues related to its mission through research projects, lecture series and article publications. |
